Energy Auditor

Building Energy is seeking a highly motivated and outgoing individual to join our dynamic team as an Energy Auditor. The ideal candidate will possess a background in construction and sales with experience in building performance. 

This individual will join our mission to reduce Vermont’s carbon emissions, while utilizing their skills to make homes and buildings more energy efficient and safer for years to come. We specialize in deep energy retrofitting, remodeling and extensive reconstruction of thermal barriers. Building Energy has been a leader in the Vermont energy service industry since 2007. We are the largest Home Performance with Energy Star contractor in northwestern Vermont. Our “whole systems approach” to building performance incorporates conservation, efficiency and renewable energy.

This position will be responsible for conducting initial home energy audits, preparing comprehensive energy audit reports that include recommended work-scope with contracted pricing, conducting sales follow up and ongoing customer service, managing the project kick-off, and conducting final test outs. Our auditors are expected to be “hands on” from the initial audit all the way through the final test out providing excellent customer service.

Our goal is to develop lasting professional relationships with our clients that will foster referrals and return business. A BPI Certification as well as experience in construction and/or insulation is preferred! We are willing to train the right candidate.

Experienced Lead Carpenters

Building Energy is currently seeking experienced lead carpenters to join our highly skilled and accomplished construction team for primarily residential construction (e.g., remodels, additions, framing) and lead a crew of experienced journeymen.

If you have 5+ years of experience in construction, you work well with a team, and you are looking to join a great company to grow with, then we want to hear from you! Experienced Journeymen

Building Energy is currently seeking experienced journeymen to join our highly skilled and accomplished construction team for primarily residential construction (e.g., remodels, additions, framing). Our company provides a great opportunity for people seeking to grow and learn working in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the construction industry, a willingness to grow and learn, work well independently and as part of a team, and possess the necessary skills to complete projects efficiently and effectively. Possession of basic hand tools, a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and reliable transportation is a must.

Insulator/Laborer

Join our talented weatherization team as an Insulator/Laborer.

Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures, be willing and able to position themselves to work in confined spaces, as well as perform assigned tasks while crawling or in a crouched/ stooped/ kneeling position for an extended period of time, and able to use basic hand and power tools. You will be responsible for loading materials on and off trucks daily, cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment, and maintaining activity logs.

Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time is a must. Experience applying insulation materials such as cellulose and spray foam is preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate! Insulators also have the opportunity to grow into other positions such as solar installers, carpenters, or BPI Certified Energy Auditors.
